چکیده

Some recent normalized constant modulus algorithms possess surprisingly improved error performance surfaces (EPSs). In this paper, we look at the EPSs of these algorithms in the symbol-spaced setting. The lack of channel disparity in the fractionally-spaced setting is also considered. It is found that normalization has a decreasing e ect as the equalizer length is increased and causes the stationary points to drift. While the drift is small for the Desirable Local Solutions (DLSs), it is more signi cant for the Undesirable Local Solutions (ULSs) some of which cease to exist.

A Novel Variable Step Size Adjustment Method Based on Autocorrelation of Error Signal for the Constant Modulus Blind Equalization Algorithm

Blind equalization is a technique for adaptive equalization of a communication channel without the use of training sequence. Although the constant modulus algorithm (CMA) is one of the most popular adaptive blind equalization algorithms, because of using fixed step size it suffers from slow convergence rate. A novel enhanced variable step size CMA algorithm (VSS-CMA) based on autocorrelation of...

Adaptive Algorithms Versus Higher Order Cumulants for Identification and Equalization of MC-CDMA

In this paper, a comparative study between a blind algorithm, based on higher order cumulants, and adaptive algorithms, i.e. Recursive Least Squares (RLS) and Least Mean Squares (LMS) for MultiCarrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) systems equalization is presented. Two practical frequency-selective fading channels, called Broadband Radio Access Network (BRAN A, BRAN B) normalized for ...

A feedback approach to the steady-state performance of fractionally spaced blind adaptive equalizers

This paper proposes a new approach to the analysis of the steady-state performance of constant modulus algorithms (CMA), which are among the most popular adaptive schemes for blind equalization. A major feature of the proposed feedback approach is that it bypasses the need for working directly with the weight error covariance matrix. In so doing, approximate expressions for the steady-state mea...

Direct Adaptive Blind Linear Equalization over Fading Multipath Channels

Adaptive blind equalization for multipath channels has gained widespread intention in wireless communication applications. Unfortunately, inherent distortion in multipath channel requires sophisticated equalization algorithms. Thus, computational complexity reduction has motivated the use of dithered signed-error constant modulus algorithm (DSE-CMA) to replace the widely used CMA algorithm. In ...

Blind Equalization Based on Modified Constant Modulus Algorithm

Future services demand high data rate and quality. Thus, it is necessary to define new and robust algorithms to equalize channels and reduce noise in communications. Now a days, new equalization algorithms are being developed to optimize the channel bandwidth and reduce noise, namely, Blind Channel Equalization. Conventional equalizations minimizing mean-square error generally require a trainin...
